Massata Samb is a former sports marketer who was born on January 27, 1983 in Dakar, Senegal. He is the son of former president of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), Lamine Diack.
Samb worked for the IAAF as a consultant, and he was also involved in media and marketing work for other international sports organizations. He was one of the key figures implicated in the Russian doping scandal, which rocked the world of athletics in 2015.
In January 2019, Interpol issued a Red Notice for Samb's arrest after a warrant was issued by French authorities. He was accused of bribery, money laundering, and corruption, and it was alleged that he received millions of dollars in bribes from athletes in exchange for covering up their positive drug tests.
Samb has denied any wrongdoing, but he remains on the run from authorities. He is believed to be hiding in his home country of Senegal, which does not have an extradition agreement with France.
